1a) The facts demonstrate that Enid and Ruth were caught causing criminal damage to allotment buildings by Sinead and Amijt. Criminal damage is an indictable offence triable either way. An assessment will be made using specific sections of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 as to whether the arrests of Enid and Ruth were lawful. The arrest of Ruth will initially be addressed. In this instance it was necessary for Amijt to arrest Ruth to prevent her causing any further damage to the property. An additional necess ity factor to apply to the arrest can be found s24A(4)(d) PACE 1984. This section refers to preventing the perpetrator ‘making off before a constable could arrive’. It was necessary for Amijt to prevent Ruth from making off before a constable could arrive. Enid had managed to make off before any action could be taken to make an arrest. It appears based on the facts presented that Ruth’s arrest was lawful, Amijt was granted the power of arrest by s24A(1)(a) PACE 1984. Furthermore, both of the necessity criteria for an arrest in s24A(3)(a) and s24A(3)(b) PACE 1984 were satisfied. There were sufficient necessity factors as stated in s24A(4) PACE 1984 which applied to the facts. The necessity factors included s24A(4)(c) and s34A(4)(d) PACE 1984. The Bumpy Ride of my Life free essay sample

â€Å"Ready?† Mike asked me while putting the key into the ignition â€Å"Uhh†¦Yup,† I answered, I was almost ready to go. â€Å"Mike, please don’t go too fast at first†, I begged him. â€Å"Maybe,† he grinned as he roared the engine. Here I was, on the amazingly beautiful Lake Norman in North Carolina on my cousin’s Jet Ski. The mid- August heat was burning down on me and made me want to just jump into the water beneath me. Everyone said I was crazy for going out on the jet ski with my crazy cousin, Mike, but I didn’t listen to them, and everything seemed to be going well, so far. We had just gotten to the point where were we stop idling, and start flying. â€Å"Hold on!† Mike shouted back at me as we go from zero to sixty in 6 secconds. I quickly grabbed on to the straps of Mike’s life jacket and looked around. My cheeks were being pushed back and my eyes started tearing like crazy. It wasn’t scary at all I thought, just exhilarating. Finally, we arrived at the middle of the lake. There were no people, just the quiet breeze of the ocean . Mike stopped the jet ski, pulled out the key, and jumped into the water. â€Å"Mike, you’re crazy,† I chuckled looking down at him from the jet ski. I was glad I wasn’t in the water. â€Å"Get in!† Mike commanded me. â€Å"No way I’m getting in that water, you don’t know what’s living down there!† I exclaimed back to Mike. After I said that, Mike was determined to get me in the water. He drove around in little circles making jerky unexpected turns until I fell off. He wanted me to learn the right way to fall. Obviously, that was not good enough. I could feel the mist from the water taking over me. I was l osing my grip. I loosened my hands and a little to fix my grip, and , WHAM! Mike made the sharpest, most unexpected turn. I flew off the jet ski and my hip got smashed into the back of the jet ski before I was completely emerged in the water. I let my life jacket do the swimming while I waited for Mike to turn around and pick me up. As I held onto the handle and lifted myself back onto the jet ski, I felt so much pain on my hip It was almost numb. I look down, and see a red stream pouring down my leg. Before Mike started to move, with total shock I said, â€Å"Woah, Mike look at my leg.† Mike turned to look at it, and with a dumfounded look on his face he managed to blurt, â€Å" Oh my god, how did that happen?† I replied flatly, â€Å"I hit the back of the jet ski.† He questioned me about the injury and if I was okay, but I told him I was fine, washed the cut off, covered it with my bathing suit, and swallowed the pain. â€Å"Come on, lets go,† I sugg ested to Mike and we were off doing more doughnuts. He let me drive around a little before we started to head back. Even though I still have a scar to this day, every time I look at it, it reminds me of an exciting adventure I went on with my cousin. This experience has shown me to not worry about the little things in life. If you don’t let it bother you, you can end up having an amazing time and doing things that you never believed you would ever get a chance to. That ride on Lake Norman was not only beautiful and exciting, but it really made Mike and I bond more as cousins. By not making a big deal out of my injury, I had an amazing time. Looking back on it, I would never change a thing.

For this purpose, Congress passed the E mergency Banking Relief Act (March 9, 1933), which granted the President broad powers in the financial sector. All the accounts of banks in the country were blocked to audit them in detail. The President got the right to monitor international financial operations, to confiscate gold from private ownership. Exchange of bank notes for gold was stopped. The state started to control banks’ gold reserves. The government devalued the dollar (in January 1934 to 14%). The number of banks was reduced by one fifth. The government strictly limited the banks. The Glass-Steagall Act (1933) prohibited the banks from combining deposit and investment functions. State deposit insurance was introduced in all the banks (up to five thousand dollars). The National Industrial Recovery Act was passed on 16 June 1933 and is the most significant legislation of the New Deal. Department of environment and other agencies are generally not involved. The legislations / rules and laws of Department of environment and other related agencies are more concentrated on environment issues that are generated by commercial establishments in terms of pollution control and not green initiatives. Therefore, this research focuses on understanding and comprehension of various processes, methodologies and best practices for a Go Green framework for the food and beverage industry in Malaysia. There are two reasons that this research has carried out on this specific topic. Green related articles were already published in Malaysia. Environmental concerned green programmes have been implemented in Malaysia since many years ago. And also many articles that related to its programmes has being published in various sectors like waste management, green building, recycle policy, organic food sectors, hospitality and tourism sector, and etc. Especially in service industry perceptive, there are very limited or almost none have been published green related articles. Provided government regulations are not clearly specify for service industry. There available data like environmental education, green building index, green technology guidelines and process, however, there are no clear information that are stated for service industry to follow. Appendix 1 shows that industry commitment in Green initiative has increased from 2008 to 2009, thus research was analyzed by restaurant industry forecast, 2010. However, such kind of focus has not been done in Malaysia restaurant industry. These shows that service industry in Malaysia has very limited research that give clear information on Go green implementation. From this research, industry will benefit the actual information of industry players perceptive and the best suitable framework of Go green implementation in Malaysian market context. Although a restaurants costs go up when it installs pricey equipment to make its operation more sustainable and pays extra to source ingredients that meet sustainability standard (Going Green: Will Customers Notice? 2010), restaurant can easily make up these costs (Carley.N, 2010). For example, A restaurant that installs a $60 spray valve that release a maximum of 1.28 gallons per minute, compared to regular valves that release 2 gallons to 6 gallons per minute, can save $500 or more a year in water bill. Primary data will be collected by using survey questionnaires to the restaurant managers and owners around Kuala Lumpur. Secondary data will be gathered from the relevant academic journals, books, published magazines and articles, and also internet sources. Basically, the survey questionnaires will be distributed to three different types of restaurant such as: fast food restaurants, casual dining restaurants and semi-fine dining or fine dining restaurants. Approximately 30 survey questionnaires will be distributed as sample. The questionnaires will be demonstrated in demographic, attitude and behaviour study on each type of restaurants. This is to ensure there is a balance in different types of service restaurants owner perceptive on Go green concept implementations in Malaysia. The outcome of this survey will give better understanding on how restaurant owners aware and deep analysis of their understanding on this concept. And also it will help to indicate the best options of practices needed for the Malaysian market context. Secondary data will be collected from academic journals, books, relevant magazines and articles, and internet sources. This will enhance the better understanding on theoretical framework of Go green concept practices. In additionally, local government data and non-government organisation data will also include in this research. This is to clarify such concept has been performed in other industry sector as well as to identify the availability of Green supply chain in Malaysia. After his coming back from the World War I in France, he worked at the Pesemen-Rubin Art Studio. Walter met Ubbe Iwwerks and they put up their own company Iwerks- Disney in 1920. The company collapsed eventually and they moved to work with Kansas City Film Ad. In 1922, he formed Laugh-O-Gram Films where he produced short cartoons and started producing Alices Wonderland. Before ending his production of Alices Wonderland, his company got bankrupt and he moved to Hollywood seeking direction job with no luck. He convinced his brother to finance the new company, Disney Brothers, and hired more people in 1925. The big success happened when they created Mickey Mouse which was his popular cartoon character and Disney regained from the loss of the Oswald character rights and his staff in 1928. He even got an Academy Award in 1932. Disney did well in the 1930s especially when he started producing full length features such as now White and the Seven Dwarfs and The Three Little Pigs. James v. Lorenz :: essays research papers

In the barn, he had this nasty little habit of burying things into the ground, and upon being moved into the house continued with the same behavior. After a few days, he eventually stopped trying to dig altogether. How would you explain this? L: I believe that your carpet was not the right stimulus for your beloved terrier. An animal needs to have a specific stimulus in order to elicit a certain response; in this case, the dirt would elicit the digging. Because the dog was not in an environment that had dirt readily available to him to be able to dig, he had no need to do so. J: Okay, but why did he continue, if even for a few days, to try to dig into my carpet and deposit useless items such as gloves into the floor? L: He was so used to digging in your barn that he continued to do so in your house. The intensity of the stimulus changed, so the response followed suit and changed as well. J: But that is like my fly-wheel of society, he kept on trying to dig into my carpet because he was used to doing it†¦but then that is considered to be a habit and not an instinct. L: It was instinctive for him to bury in the barn not only because he had the right stimulus to elicit the digging, but also what was he burying in the barn? Food, I suppose. I believe that if you take for example the concealment response of Corvids, you will see that some animals purposely hide their food so that in the future, they can retrieve it if necessary. Because as you know of course, that unlike domestic animals, wild animals need to search for their food in order to survive. Your terrier was doing as much in trying to hide his food in the barn, probably because there were other animals that were present and he assumed they might try to take his food. After having been in your home for a few days, he realized that there was no need to continue with the act of burying items such as gloves because it was useless.
